| EMMA BRIDGEWATER POTTERY MAKES A SPLASH TO RAISE CASH |

On Saturday 19th June, pottery workers at Emma Bridgewater Pottery downed tools to put on a fun day to raise money for the hospice.A number of DIY rafts of all shapes and sizes took to the waters of Caldon Canal for the first ever ‘Hanley Regatta’. The event was officially opened by the firm’s owner and founder, Emma Bridgewater.
There were numerous stalls with fun family activities including painting your own mug, tombola and delicious home-baked cakes. Later in the day, rafts made way for the ‘Up ‘Anley Duck’ race which saw hundreds of plastic ducks unleashed on the canal in a race for the finish line.
Managing director for the firm Stephen Hyde said: “The idea for this event came about when I heard someone talking about the Henley Regatta and thought it would be good if Hanley could have one.”
We are Emma Bridgewater’s chosen charity of the year and ‘Hanley Regatta’ is one of a number of fundraising activities and events planned by its staff to raise money for the hospice.
