Before leaving Tanzania, Team Kili 4 Kids paid a visit to an orphanage in Pasua, Moshi.

Leaving behind the oasis of our hotel, the group travelled a short bus journey and walk to a centre set up and run by Zara Charity, the charity arm of Zara Tours that conducted our Kilimanjaro trek.

The Kilimanjaro Orphan Centre is a registered Non-Government Organisation supporting needy children and orphans with residential care, education and medical care.

From its rented scattering of buildings, in various states of disrepair, the centre accommodates around 30 children between the ages of 3 and 9 years.

Team Kili 4 Kids arrived to a joyous welcome from a group of children singing songs and dancing.

The group presented the centre with a certificate signed by all members of Kili 4 Kids to commemorate our visit, before handing over gifts of books, stationery, toys, footballs and dental care products.
